Issue/Rationale

Issue Rationale for bids to be awarded as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy

 

a.  Subscription Services County-Wide Bid #09-SCH-84 – Bid established for the purchase and delivery of existing subscriptions and the provision of new periodical publications to various schools and departments.  Eight (8) bids solicited, three (3) bids received, one (1) no bid and one (1) bid received late.  The vendor awarded is the most responsive qualified bidder meeting specifications.

 

b.  Fuel Tanks – Above Ground Bid #09-MA-294 – Bid established for the purchase of three (3) 3000 gallon stand alone above ground fuel tanks for placement at Clay Hill Elementary, Lake Asbury Elementary and Ridgeview Elementary.  Three (3) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load and three (3) bids received.  The vendor awarded is the lowest most responsive qualified bidder meeting specifications.

 

c.  ReRoofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-295 – Bid established for the purchase of labor and nails to facilitate and service the proper execution and completion of roofing projects county wide.  Twenty three (23) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, three (3) bids received, one (1) no bid and one (1) bid received late.  The vendor awarded is the lowest most responsive qualified bidder meeting specifications.

 

d.  Materials for Roofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-296 - Bid established for the purchase and delivery of materials for reproofing of shingled roofs throughout the discrict.  Seven (7) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, one (1) bid received and one (1) no bid.  The single responsive bid was evaluated by the Purchasing Director and the Director of Maintenance and after calls were place to all vendors that were mailed a solicitation it was determined that the sole bid received is in-line with the current market.  The vendor awarded is the only bidder meeting specifications.

 

e.  Catalog Percentage Discount Bid #09-BA-101 – Bid established for the purchase and delivery of items at a fixed percentage discount from vendor’s current catalog prices.  Two hundred and thirty seven (237) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, one hundred and forty five (145) bids received, six (6) no bids, one (1) bid being rejected due to change in terms and condition, two (2) bids received late and three (3) bids returned.

            Guardian Fueling Technologies, 17014 Traverse Cir, Jupiter, FL  33477 

 

c.  ReRoofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-295 - Recommend award to:

            Quality Construction of Northeast Florida, Inc, 2175 Kingsley Avenue Suite 315, Orange Park, FL  32073

 

d.  Materials for Roofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-296 - Recommend award to:

            Keystone Building Center, Inc, PO BOX 1249, Keystone Heights, FL  32656

 

e.  Catalog Percentage Discount Bid #09-BA-101 - Recommend award to:

Financial Impact

a.  Subscription Services County-Wide Bid #09-SCH-84:  Estimated $26,000.00 

 

b.  Fuel Tanks – Above Ground Bid #09-MA-294:  Estimated $35,316.00

 

c.  ReRoofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-295:  Estimated $150,000.00

 

d. Materials for Roofing of Shingled Roofs Bid #09-MA-296:  Estimated $30,000.00 for 1st year

 

e.  Catalog Percentage Discount Bid #09-BA-101:  Funding for items are included in the operating budget at each facility therefore no increased financial impact to the District.  This bid will save the District money based on percentage discount off catalog pricing.
